Celebrated by cooperatives nationwide during the month of October (and first started in Minnesota in 1948) National Co-op Month is an annual opportunity to raise awareness of a trusted, proven way to do business and build resilient, inclusive communities.
CDS and our partners invite you to these three regional networking/ happy hour events in Minneapolis, Madison, and Rochester to celebrate Co-op Month and our 40th anniversary!

Join cooperative professionals and enthusiasts from across co-op sectors for happy hour networking, storytelling, and celebration. Connect with peers you rarely get to see in one room, share cooperative success stories, raise a toast to CU Forward Volunteers, the successful relaunch of CoMinnesota, and help CDS celebrate four decades of cooperative development!
This gathering is designed for those who want to:
- Network across cooperative sectors (credit unions, food co-ops, housing co-ops, worker co-ops, energy co-ops, co-op support organizations, and more)
- Celebrate Co-op Month, the International Year of Cooperatives, 100 years of Credit Unions in Minnesota, and CDS’s 40th anniversary
- Learn about cooperatives, including development trends and opportunities
- Generate content and connections for their own organizations
- Share success stories and innovative approaches with peers
- The event will include informal networking and facilitated conversation, as well as light appetizers, birthday cake, and Broken Clock’s special High
- Yield Pale Ale, commemorating 100 years of Credit Unions in Minnesota!
The first 40 people to arrive at the Broken Clock gathering will receive a commemorative pint glass filled with co-op surprises!
