Our mission is to create a cooperative economy in the Upper Midwest; we achieve that by educating about cooperatives, providing guidance to start new cooperatives, and by helping existing cooperatives grow. Our work involves direct delivery of start-up counseling and business analysis; we also connect our clients to resources through networking, referral and grant writing.
Individuals can support CDS’ charitable and educational cooperative development work by making a contribution to our federally tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, the Cooperative Development Fund of CDS. Contributions to this fund are used to deliver educational programs and business development assistance (especially in under-served areas), create innovative cooperative development approaches, and support the overall work of our organization. Contributions of any amount are welcome at any time, either by check or by online donation. All donations will be acknowledged with a written receipt, and all will be put to good use.
