Through our 501(c)(3) affiliate, the Cooperative Development Fund of CDS, we provide nonprofit infrastructure for cooperatives nationwide, handling compliance and donation processing so you can focus on your mission.
We’re registered for charitable solicitation in all states that require it, allowing cooperatives anywhere in the U.S. to fundraise legally through our program for activities consistent with our charitable mission to help start and strengthen cooperative enterprises. Since launching our formal fiscal sponsorship program in 2020, we’ve helped over 50 co-ops raise over $5 million in charitable capital. Our Fund has achieved Candid’s Platinum Seal for Transparency, signaling the highest level of integrity.
Backed by our center’s 40 years of cooperative development expertise, we understand what co-ops need to succeed. We serve startup co-ops working to launch their enterprises, established cooperatives pursuing expansion projects or turnarounds, and any co-op needing 501(c)(3) status for grant applications. From grocery to housing to worker-owned businesses, we help all types of cooperatives access the funding they need to thrive.
