CDS hosted a Co-op Month gathering on October 25, bringing together over 40 cooperators from multiple co-op sectors for great conversation and networking. The event also served an opportunity to honor Bill Gessner, a leader both regionally and nationally, in the food co-op community. Executive Director Kevin Edberg provided history and context for the institutions doing co-op development in the region, and the significant role that Bill played in creating and supporting those institutions.
Attendees enjoyed friendly matches of table tennis throughout the evening. (One of Bill’s passions was ping pong!). Following the celebration, in Bill’s honor, the ping pong table was donated to the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities.
We thank our hosts, Broken Clock Brewery Cooperative, for their wonderful hospitality; Eastside Food Cooperative for graciously providing the delicious food; Triangle Park Creative for assisting with the program presentation, and CoMinnesota for spreading the word about the event!
