After several years of planning and community organizing, a new food co-op opened its doors last week in Fredericksburg VA. The co-op has over 1900 owners, projects over $4 million in annual sales, and will employ about 35 people (about two thirds of them FT) at living wage jobs.
Fredricksburg Food Co-op has been a participant in CDS’s fiscal agency program, allowing them to generate over $30,000 in community grants and charitable donations to especially support early-stage planning efforts. CDS is proud to be a part of the team that has created this beautiful new store.
