The economic impacts of the pandemic are being felt significantly at CDS. We are receiving an inquiry or request for support for a new co-op almost every week and are doing our best to respond to all in a timely manner. As we plan for the year ahead, we have also looked back. In our most recently completed fiscal year, our staff of three FT and 3 PT staff:
- Meaningfully assisted 125 co-ops from five different industry sectors, in addition to supporting 19 startups, 16 businesses, and 17 nonprofits. Our work included education, business development assistance, and capitalization support.
- Helped clients access over $500,000 in state or federal grant funds, and over $90,000 in charitable contributions.
- Supported incorporation of one community-based LLC and two new co-ops, including our first transition of a business to a worker-owned co-op.
