A new book by E.G. Nadeau, author of Cooperation Works and Cooperative Solutions.
Join us for a discussion with E.G. on Sat. June 22, 3-5 PM at Mississippi Market, East 7th St, Saint Paul.
How can a cooperative economy increase democracy, expand economic democracy, contribute to improved quality of life, and support our environment?
Discuss these questions with E.G. Nadeau on Saturday, June 22, from 3-5 p.m. at Mississippi Market Natural Food Co-op – East 7th Location Community, 740 E 7th Street, St. Paul, MN 55106
Nadeau was the founding director of CDS—Cooperative Development Services. In his latest book – The Emerging Cooperative Economy – Nadeau proposes steps we can take to make the transition from an inequitable and unsustainable world economy to one based – through cooperation and the cooperative business model – on meeting human needs and protecting the planet.
By first exploring the evolution of human economies, Nadeau then makes recommendations for transitioning to a predominance of cooperative economies in the world – with high levels of political and economic democracy, an adequate quality of life for all of us, and a sustainable relationship with the ecosystems in which we live.
For more than 50 years, Nadeau has been researching, promoting, writing, and teaching about cooperatives and cooperation. He is co-founder in 2017 of The Cooperative Society Project, a non-profit initiative based on the hypothesis that humans may be on the threshold of a new historical stage – one characterized by cooperation, democracy, the equitable distribution of resources, and a sustainable relationship with nature.
